Does your child(ren)’s school need a Youth Banking Program?

3 Things to Know before Signing the Youth Banking Program Petition

What’s a Youth Banking Program?

Hello K-12 Parents,

If you’re not aware, Youth Banking Programs are partnerships between schools and banks.

They do 3 very important things for our youth:

1. It allows our children to open and deposit money into a real savings account in school as part of a financial education program.

2. Prepare and empower our children to make sound financial decisions.

3 Reinforce what our children are learning in their general curriculum.

Financial education and real life experience saving in an account can be a powerful combination.

If you want to see a program at your child(ren)’s school, sign the petition

Isn’t my child too young to learn about banking?

For those Pre-K - 2 parents that feel like their child is t ready. Research shows that children in grades Pre K - 2 are ready to start forming healthy money habits and learn norms and rules of thumb that relate tk money.

They’re also learning basic numeracy, how to understand and work with numbers. By second grade, children are developing basic money management skills. Simply put, they’re ready.

Where can I sign the petition? And, what happens next?

Feel free to sign the petition by completing our form right here.

After receiving your signature, we take the list of parents and supporters in the community, then present it to the school and banks to start or reintroduce a Youth Banking Program.
